The Non-Profit Partnership “Russian Sustainable Architecture and Building Council” (RSABC) was established on the initiative of the Union of Architects of Russia (UAR), which is the part of the International Union of Architects (UIA). The UIA unites leading professional organizations from 129 countries all over the World.

The RSABC is supported by committees of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the RF Ministry of Regional Development, Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences (RAASN), Moscow State Construction University (MGSU), Moscow Architectural Institute (MARCHI).
The RSABC has been established according to Memorandum between the UIA and the World Green Building Council (signed in January of 2010) and is guided by UIA and UAR decisions and recommendations (including the Copenhagen Declaration Cop-16 of December 7, 2009) and Work Programmes: "Sustainable by Design» and "Architecture and Renewable Energy Sources" (ARES). The RSABC aimed to the development of "Green Architecture" concepts in Russia and to including them into the State Program of innovation and modernization of the national economy.
The RSABC is focused to the study, development and support of the most advanced Russian domestic architecture, urban planning, engineering and design innovations. We hope to bring to Russia international experience, technologies, construction techniques and materials that can improve the quality of construction and living environment in our country and turn it to sustainable development, which the whole professional community has accepted as a platform of architecture in the XXI century.
Being an interdisciplinary organization, the RSABC can unite all participants of architecture, construction and engineering, interested in the development of "Green architecture", in order to create – on behalf of the RF Ministry of Regional Development – the platform for developing Russian standards and norms of "Green building", higher education curricula and architects’ and designers’ training programmes for implementation the full range of "green" technologies in architecture and design.
The RSABC is looking for leading experts, government agencies and private companies, investment and financial institutions with the aim of using their intellectual, organizational and financial resources to begin implementing the qualitatively new architecture program in Russia basing on the concept of harmonious unity of the artificial and natural environment.
Members of the RSABC by using information and organizational resources of the UIA and UAR will have the priority right to promote their ideas, scientific and technical achievements in constructive materials among the professional architectural community. They will be able to participate in the development of a new regulatory certification system for green buildings, and thus become pioneers in determining the parameters of the new "Green architecture".
The RSABC was registered in March of 2011 and started its activity. We invite all interested parties for creative partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation.
